I believe the gusto-meter™️ on my table is broken as it suddenly had too much gusto. The service was impeccable though and only second to none. The last time I’ve been treated to such luxury was back in Morocco playing high stake baccarat to win back a precious jade statue.

I rolled that die, I really did.

I turned the crank to scandalous, put on Miles Davis' live album Dark Magus, cast my lot and found the doors of perception cleansed before me. In Aldous Huxley's account of his own mescaline trip, while utterly transfixed by some chair legs, he commented that "this is how one ought to see." Seeing what? The infinite beauty, the elevated dimensions of being, the integration of all things, within that of the ordinary and mundane. I do not do drugs, but while discharging my little numbered projectile into the darkness as a radiant spotlight follows its arc across the table, I am inclined to concur with Ol'Hux - there is certainly a lot to enjoy and admire in the simplicity.

The clacks of the die against the hardwood are an absolute delight. The models of the dice are real nice too. I appreciate the care to make each one distinctive. Oh d10, how I love you so with your reflective granite and metallic roman numerals. I dare to say the UI grazes perfection. The designs create a sort of low sci-fi roaring 20's feel. Its like Fritz Lang's camera is upon me. My funny little gusto-meter is in such a nice place and the crank sound emitted at each turn gives it a tactile feel. Same goes for the number selector at the top. I love the menu menu and its little pop-up. It all comes together in a great culmination for that noir nightclub atmosphere and no element feels out of place. And though I do prefer to listen to my own music in this sort of game, I did give a listen to some of the tracks and was very pleased. Slow, atmospheric smooth jazz that just adds more to the overall feel. If I could look around, I am certain I would see a relaxed but focused band on stage, wrapped in smoke, playing in comfortable rhythm with each other while ladies and gentlemen gather round to sip whiskey and puff cigars. I should also add that the brief comments on the side were welcome and humorous. They brought a smile to my face even during the many times I failed to guess the number. But then again, there really is no 'failing'. its all about dat feel. And dat feel is quite nice. I don't usually play this sort of game, but I'm glad I played this one, and I will continue to play this one. I enjoy it very much and applaud the efforts. Thank you!
